Great info! I just got into using buzz baits and your tips have worked. Do you ever use spoons? I've heard that work really well in the spring just after the spawn and late and early fall when the water temp drops to about 65 to 68 degrees. I've had some luck with northerns with the spoons. Keep the tips coming and great fishing!

What would you recommend for fishing near a marsh during early mornings? What baits work well with dropshots? Never fished them before and am trying it this year

@bv9073 Lots of baits work very well in the early morning in and around vegitation. If it's calm Try top water like a popper. If it is windy try a spinner bait. If there is wood or rocks around use a bandit crank bait. If you see lots of fish movment try a buzz bait! For the drop shot I like the three inch senko and a cool minnow looking bait you can get at kmart.

Does the loudness of the bait matter?

@waxybarbecue Sound plays a big part when fishing buzz baits. I like to use metal blades and I mount them out side on my car and then drive 50 miles. I do this to try to get the blade to Squeak just right. Speed is also very important! I try to go as slow as I can and still stay on top of the water (I do this most of the time). Color is a big part of catching big bass too. I like dark colors durring low light. I even think a bubble also helps. I like my noise to be definet but not too loud.
