I tend to like Cage's movies but TWM remake just stank. It wasn't just Cage tho, there's plenty of VERY GOOD actors/actresses in TWM remake but they all seemed to suck in it None of them come close to Woodward. He was a lovely guy too.
BTW somethin funny. I remembr reading that the original wicker man was set in summer but had to be shot nearer to winter so to avoid the actors breaths showing on camera, they all had to suck on ice cubes between takes. Fair play to them
Proof that horror direction can't be ham-fisted like that. The reveal of the wicker man itself in the original is as chilling as anything I've ever seen because it's so delicate and restrained. All the horror is filtered through Woodward's fantastic performance. But the remake might as well have neon signs around its wicker man saying, "Boo!" Also the original is actually about something whereas the remake is just a bad episode of The Twilight Zone. When will Hollywood understand this?
Dude... The first ending of the first movie was horribly amazingly terrifying.

So If I get this right the remake has lost the whole religious point of view? Is Cage's character a Christian?
