I have been a Tommy Steele fan since I was 11 so that makes it 56 years. When I was kid I bought every record going, my room's walls were covered in pics. so was the ceiling and I had to go to see him wherever he was. I met Tommy twice and he was FABULOUS. EVERY concert I have seen him in has been SUPERB and he is
VERY talented.....love to see him again, WHERE ARE YOU TOMMY??
Nothing average about this guy! Don't judge an entertainer by one song! I was there and saw him grow into UK's finest entertainer (Britains answer to Danny Kay) within just a few years. I saw him live about 15-20 years ago and what a show. Where is he now? If Tom Jones can come back so can Tommy.
Tommy followed the same formula on this one as he did on his earlier UK smash "Singing The Blues"- covering another Marty Robbins/ Guy Mitchell release from the US. Both tunes written by Melvin Endsley!

I am a Marty Robbins Fan but I still have room for Tommy.Tommy made it to all stages of entertainment in later life.
I will admit I did buy Martys version but then I always bought the originals anyway.

Tommy Steele had this unique ability of making excellent songs sound pretty ordinary. This one is no exception!Just compare Marty Robbins version.
