Special Assembly Day: English, Spanish and [faking it] in Ilocano

Had an interview on the Iloko Special Assembly Day Program. The original plan was to have me do it in English since I don't speak the language. However, at rehearsal, the brother suggested translating a few sentences. Then a few more. Then...well, you get the picture. Gemma and Rina translated my part and I simply had them read it back to me while I wrote what I heard phonetically. Then all I had to do was read....I liked the audience's initial reaction at hearing me (try) to answer in Ilocano when they were expecting English! What a great group. Whew, glad it's over!
