  • hi, how do you verify so you know the answers are right? ? (like to find the root)

  • @musicINspired707

We can always check our answers by putting them back into the equation for the variable and working it out to see that it is equal to what it should be.

    For example, let's say we solved the equation x + 5 = 9 and got x = 4.

We can put the 4 back into the original equation to get:

    4 + 5 = 9

Then we can simplify to get 9 = 9 which is true so we know our answer is correct.

    I hope that helps! :-)

  • anybody know what is 4(t - 8) + 20 = 52???

  • @101melodyroseheart Start by distributing that 4 through to get rid of the parenthesis. 4t - 32 + 20 = 52 Combine like terms. 4t - 12 = 52 Then add 12 to both sides to get rid of the minus 12. 4t - 12 + 12 = 52 + 12 4t = 64 Finally, divide by 4 on both sides to get the t by itself. 4t/4 = 64/4 t = 16 I hope that helps! Keep working hard on your math! :-)
  • how am i using this in real life !!! -________-

  • @mrsalana1103

Check out the word problems in your book. Also, it's a building block toward more complex equations that you might use for real-world problems. :-)
