  • not sure about this, I normally just enter flat slightly towards thumb (helps with the "feel" in my case) and if anything I was aways taught to enter thumb side down as it facilite the subsequent sculling action for the "catch". watching the video the swimmer lost the high elbow catch during the pull phase suggesting a problem with this technique, anyone want to enlighten me why Goswim put this on??

  • @kelvinorian - There are three videos in this progression on the site. Go find out.

  • @goswim098 I see, you are just comparing hand entry positions. . . .

  • @kelvinorian - Yeah... showing variations. Each vid on it's own only tells part of the story. Working with swimmers from 6 - 80, you see a lot of variations, and have to know how to react to what is done naturally, and if it needs to be adapted or not. Thanks.

  • In case o good body rotation this entry allow a rapid catch, but lack of rotation induces the drop elbow

  • @goswim098 agree, when shoulder flexibility goes, people compensate for it using various techniques but usually slows them down even further, think they have to do more stretching and gym work rather then swim with bad techniques though. . . . . but most people don't care about it that much, as long as they can do the lengths

  • This is what my swimming buddy teach me and i can feel it more moving faster after i tried.and thanks for goswimo98 ,my freestyle had improved much after i watched all the video posted by go swim....:)

  • @kelvinorian Just read the comments from the site, think most of the competitive swimmers there have the same view eh? lol - (point taken though) cheers for the videos! K
