  • georgetteflamm - I'm not sure what you are asking. What kind of 'entry'---a check, a journal entry, etc?

  • Find the incorrect transaction and bring it up on screen. If you simply entered the wrong amount, change the amount. If you entered the wrong type of transaction (e.g., you entered a Credit Card Charge and you meant to enter a Write Check), go to Edit, Delete Transaction. Now, record the correct transaction.

Caution: Be careful when deleting/changing the amount of a transaction. You would NOT want to delete or change a transaction that has previously been reconciled.

  • Either way is acceptable. I prefer to always enter a bill and then pay the bill (when the time comes). This ensures all bills go through A/P. For debit card transactions, I use the Write Checks option.

  • I recorded an amount in the wrong entry. How can I delete the transaction and record it in the right entry?

  • Why use write checks instead of pay bills?
