Remember that when you solder you don't allow the connections to be connected with extra solder otherwise it will cause a short.

@trr38skyhot I have the Weller WESD51 which is a 50w with a temperature range between 350F- 850F. You may not need something like this as a standard soldering iron will do the job...look for something that is 35w or higher and gets hot enough for your application. The reason I like the WESD51 is that I can dial the temp in to whatever is required for a particular job.. .. you can damage the component if the temp is to high.

thumbs up for this! just one question i have.. doesn't it matter that we use red instead of blue leds, in terms of difference in voltage requirements..?
madviktorr 1 year ago
@madviktorr Yeah, the closer you can find red ones to the same voltage drop as the blue ones, the better off you are. I have had mine in for 2 yrs with no problem, of course overtime it will reduce the life span. You cam always change out the resistors on the controller to accommodate the red LED's, but for me I thought if the red ones burned out prematurely then I would just replace them...but so far so good.

@madviktorr I really don't know...you can try PPC's or Frozen CPU here in the states, not sure if they ship internationally or try Amazon uk

so when you say that the positive is on the right and the negative is on the left, does that go for all of the leds?

@DragonforceX351 Yes all the LED's on the controller
