Test of newly designed Abbott strips vs old.
There is a discrepancy with the reading between the 2 strips by almost 80-90%

  • the kid didnt even wash his hands with soap and warm water to get the blood flowing. Comparison between freestyle old strips and new strips is no more than 20 points difference when the test is properly done. Alot of things can contribute to discrepency. Laying the strip on the table instead of using immediately, leaving the vial open, not washing test site, squeezing etc.. These products are FDA Approved and can only give you a range of you sugar. Only a lab test can be consider accurate.....

  • @liberiason thank you for your input. He did wash his hands. You can actually hear me saying "he washed his hands". The purpose of washing his hands is not for blood flow but to ensure that there is no glucose residue on his fingers. On your statement "Comparison between freestyle old strips and new strips is no more than 20 points difference when the test is properly done." , Am I to assume that you have done this test yourself? This same test was done at the endo's office and same discrepancy.

  • @liberiason Since we bolus and correct based on these results and NOT that of a lab, the inaccuracy/discrepancy is worrisome

  • @liberiason We did NOT use the strips that were on the table. If you watch carefully, we re-inserted new strips.

  • good will, but too unorganized performance, and camera.

could you do this again ?

  • @vnfmstks Thanks for your comment. I agree that the camera work is not the best, however, the intent is to show the big discrepancy (which can be dangerous. Even deadly) between the two different strips of the same brand. More for its informative value rather then its artistic style.

  • i went to a diabetes education class and i was told not to squeeze ur finger when u do this because it can let out other fluids from the tissue in your finger causing inaccuracy in readings. Just shake ur hand downward for a lil while, then prick ur finger (just like shaking a polaroid picture). also u have to hold the strip against the blood drop on ur finger untill the meter beeps and then let go.

  • @GayWorldOrder i hope he comes out of it ok. anyway, i just got diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.

  • My friend is very sick and in a coma because the Abbott Glucose test strips he was using for his severe diabetes was under reporting blood sugar levels.

If he dies of complications from using the defective strips, his family swears they will seek legal counsel and join the new Class Action Lawsuit against Abbott Laboratories for negligence and wrongful manslaughter via litigation.

We'll see if he dies, that would suck.

I hope the families of all these dead people get billions in restitution.
