@TheLeywood Probably You and J.Lennon are wright. But as a Polish man I am aware of fact that Germany have tried to conquer our country since 966 year. So it is about 1000 years of violent, plounder, rapes, etc. that come from germanic countries (I Reich, Teutonic order, Austria-Hungary, Prussia, Nazi's Germany). Even now since we are in UE together with Germany we simply don't believe that peace on our west border will last long...

@XxRockXGodxX Betreayed them? First the teutonic order conquered city called Gdańsk (Danzig) and slayered all of the citizens that were mostly poles. The order were given a piece of land from one of Polish Prince (Konrad Mazowiecki)but since Lithuania become christian and other pagan nations were already concquered they simply started to expand in west and south direction which mean - Poland.This caused the battle for Grunwald&That's why in Poland they are considered as traitors.

@Rumban7 I've been carefully studying the History of the Teutonic Order. It's quite complex, because the enemy often changes; the motives change, the politics change. And in the crusades in the Holy land, the enemy was Islam. Everyone knew, without a doubt. But in the Baltics, it was different. It started off as a project to protect Poland, but then it shifted into a missionary project. Then, it shifted into a political project. See the change? Complex as hell.

the lithuania who was the last pagan kingom have fought with poland ..... who asked for help of the ordenmeister templar (a german) ... poland who was affraid of their military strengh betrayed them ..... the holy german empire took the side of the templar against poland .... poland took the side of lithuania (when it became christian).

@TyskeOrden I really dont think that Theutonic knight fight only for the religion. For example in Poland they were asked to help us (Poles) to fight against Baltic tribes in NE part of Poland. They had helped. But when those tribes (especially Lithuania) became Catholic Nation Theutonic temple simply start to fight with them and with Poland. That's probably why they aren't liked in this region. Catholicism-Yes! Oppressor-NO!
