Dove Hunting, Iowa DNR

Hi I am Jeff Barnes, with the Iowa DNR urging you to hunt safe and responsible this dove season. Dove hunting can take place in low light conditions, it is very important to identify each bird by silhouette and flight characteristics before firing. Always be aware of what is beyond the bird before you shoot. Wearing camouflage clothing while hunting doves is recommended always wear an orange cap while walking to and from the field. Do not set up too close to other groups and do not load your firearm until you are at your hunting site. For more information visit iowadnr.gov.
