Jeep Fording the River

This is my friend Hans trying to cross a river in Colorado (the lower platte). We egged him on until he tried it. when he gets out, you can see the high water line on his drivers side. He almost went in all the way. yes, this is on a the main road between hackett's gulch and longwater gulch (and the road crosses the river right where he is at)...an area that sadly was burnt down by a USFS ranger who started a fire on purpose so she could say she put it out and is a hero.

Thats weak, just what I wanted to see, a bloke going back and forth on a river bank, the best thing about this vid is that its over.

You guys have got to be kidding. Look at the semi-rapids right in the center. That river probably drops down to 6' deep right there. That stock Jeep would have been gone, so quit ragging on the guy for not wanting to ruin his rig.

hmm, needs M/T 33's, a 4.5" Rubicon Express Long Arm lift, a snorkel, ARB bumper and a Warn 9000i, and maybe a Banks power kit for good measure...and after you add all that, it needs a good driver who is not a loser.

this was a few years ago. unfortunately this trail burnt down (hacketts gulch) the year after the video when that forest service chick started a fire herself.

yeah...i think i could have made it in my jeep. the water was about 38" deep. I have 35" tires. He had 29" tires and no lift.
