Assembly remorse! So, we put Coburnicus' case halves together (first attempt), and the kick-start lever would not return.

Split the cases again, and Aaron (WOT) properly "wound" the kick-start lever spring and seated it in the flywheel-side of the case half, and we put the case halves together again (second attempt).

Now that we are pretty sure everything is together properly, the kick-start lever will ALWAYS return from the bottom (ie, as if you were really kick-starting the scoot) (AND, it's nice and springy!).

HOWEVER, if you push the kick-start lever half-way down, it will not return under it's own power!!! See video for demonstration. Even if you have to "help" the lever return, it "feels" proper, a nice ratcheting as it returns to top position.

OUR QUESTION: Is this normal after replacing the starter gear and smaller spring? Will this work itself out once the bike has oil in the gear box and a few miles on the rebuild?

OR, did we screw it up again, and need to re-split for a third attempt? Any advice here greatly appreciated!
