Extensively engraved, this cornet has the same gentle flowing curves that will remind you of the Grand Old Cornets of the past with one major exception. Using today's technology and Flip Oakes' unique design, he has added a playing quality has never before been achieved in any cornet. The most significant features of this horn is it's open wrapped, conical, one piece, hand hammered bell. This horn is extensively engraved. New this horn would cost you well over $4000! I know Flip personally. He put his heart and soul into his instruments. These cornets are very special!

  • I bought this very cornet and it was love at first sight, with no changing about how I feel about this cornet ever since. This Flip Oakes Wild Thing short is by far the finest cornet that I have ever played, and it is now the only cornet that I ever want to play! Steve was very helpful. His customer service is second to none. The Horn Trader rocks.

  • Great playing man. Hey isn't the tune called "Bugler's Holiday?" or are you just calling it Cornetist's Holiday because you are playing the tune on the cornet?
