not so terrible sounding to me! Kinda a cutesy black and white mickey mouse-era sound haha :)

Some great craftsmanship on such a rustic instrument!

i see. i might have got you wrong there then. but to be honest: the title is a little misleading, isnt it?
i mean: i could make an ukulele for $0. just take the one lying around in my room :-P
anyhow: did you fret it already? if you wanna keep it @4bucks you could use toothpicks as freds. they work suprisingly well and you might find them in your kitchen.
btw: didnt mean to offend you, man. i think its cool to tinker musical stuff.
This comment has received too many negative votes show
let me get this straight: you destroyed a perfeclty good instrument in order to attach its parts to a crappy piece of wood so it would look like a risa-uke?
i dont care what you do with your stuff, but you dont actualy want us to believe this thing did only cost you $4?
how much was the tenor-ukulele you ve wasted? what about the output-jack, the piezo, etc? in my calculation -while it might not be worth more than 4 bucks- it certainly did cost a lot more to fashion.
thumbs up who is with me.

@dasteve1987 The baritone ukulele the tuners came from was a $50 instrument that had sat un-played for about 6 years because it sounded terrible. The output jack I had on-hand left over from some other project. The Piezo was cannibalized from a 1990's erra PC mic that was in a junk bin at my house. My point was that it cost me $4 not that you can make one for $4. Also, this was a project for the sake of the project, not so much to build a beautiful sounding instrument. (As you can probably tell)

can distortion pedals be used in that uke?

@gerwynzxc Sure. It's an output just like an electric guitar.
