High Bridge Farmville, Va

Panorama showing High Bridge near (5 mi) Farmville, Virginia taken from near River road, Cumberland county. Almost all photos of this bridge are taken from near the ends. This approach does not emphasize the substantial length. This photo is taken at near 90 degrees to the bridge and clearly shows the length. This bridge is 2418 feet long. and about 125 feet above the Appomattox river valley at the river. The tops of the towers can be seen protruding above the trees. Leigh's mountain can be seen beyond (10 mi) the east end of the bridge. The picture was taken from about 2 miles away. This photo was created using a Nikon D70 with a 600 mm lens. About 10 shots were stitched together. A video camera scanned the resulting panorama. Photo was taken in November 2009 before Virginia state park changes.
