The developers of Go Launcher EX have developed widgets to go along with it.
The Calendar widget allows for calendar viewing from the homescreen as well as for the creation of new appointments from the widget as well.

@LiveInImagination if you can sync your GMail account with lightning then it might work that way. Directly though I don't think it will work. Give it a shot and let me know what you find!

when you select the one day widget does it automatically change to the next day?

How can you change the language on the calendar? Because my calendars language is Chinese

@icyable whoa, interesting problem, I would say uninstall then re-install. If that doesn't work definitely contact the developer through the android market on your mobile device.
