In these hard economic times I've had family move in with us until they can find work and housing. I have a nine year old who is severe and that's one of the first things I had to tell them before they moved in. I can not stop the noise from my autistic son.

I wish both of you all good.My 18 years old non-verbal son is often really noisy and all the time.....

how did i spend my son's first 8 years of life thinking this was normal noise ? am i the only one? my son is on his way to diagnosis now, and i'm on the spectrum too, my son is way louder than yours, and moves a LOT more. and yet i thought it was perfectly normal...i have low tolerance for noise and movement and YET....i just thought everything was ok lol...go figure.I must be blind.

He's cute, you should look into some musician's earplugs. :)

michellelouisetaylor .... I wish all educators were like you! What you do makes a HUGE difference!

stickynicque, you have the cutest little boy!! I, too, have a son on the spectrum who wiggles and chatters his way through the day with all sorts of noises - mostly imitating vehicle sounds and some animal sounds. Some of my extended family members don't know how to handle this ....
but I agree with michellelouisetaylor, most of the time I can tune out his noises. In fact, when he isn't at home I actually miss the noises!

no you are not the only one, i really know what you mean, my son is soooo loud all the time, has lots of meltdowns but then is the happiest kid ever so many challenges hard for him and us too god bless you

HA! I will have to say you are absolutely NOT the only one with a chatterbox at full volume (even if there are only one or two words). Rosalie didn't yell like your son does, she squealed at full volume - that high pitched shriek that goes up your spine and feels like your head is going to explode. Luckily now that she's 6 she only does it occasionally. Usually when she is mad and being defiant. Good luck on that headache - get a good pair of ear plugs! Hugs from someone who's been there!
oh trust me he gets louder and louder each year!!! This is minor compared to normal.......and he throws toys and flaps like mad - but dont worry - your on the right road now :)
