@girlguitarists i've had one since they first came out, and odd bronze finish one, i will say the individual tail pieces are made out of low grade metal and the string tension actual starts pulling the strings into the metal. I'll have to have some replacement parts machined somewhere to replace them. The tone selector is also useless and i still need to have it replaced by a typical TONE KNOB.

other than that it's my main practice guitar, and i record with it. My best guitar is Gibson ES446.

Hi it's useful demo. Yamaha AES sounds great. I've been looking for it, but hardly it appears in the market now. Right now there is one Yamaha AES420 on eBay with the price, US$ 132 only. I think it's a bargain. I'm about to bid. What do you think?

people who dont know guitars always say gibsons or fender sound better lol just ignore them. I bought mine 7 years ago the only electric guitar i've ever owned I'd never part with it. its just one of those guitars that feels nice in your hand, kinda feels part of you rather than an addon & the tone well it speaks for itself. but if anyone is going to buy a guitar treat it like buying a pair of shoes if it dont feel right when you hold it, it will always be a pain in the ass whatever one you buy.

Dude, anything made by Yamaha is well crafted, highly finished and kickass build! Don't worry about what your friend says. He doesn't know what he's talking about. Have fun with the guitar! The more distortion you throw at it, the better it sounds.

Got an AES820 for my birthday a couple of days ago. I love it, it sounds great. But, my friend keeps saying "Why did you buy a yamaha? All yamaha's suck. He's never owned a yamaha and I'm not sure he's even played one. Is there anything I should lookout for with this guitar? I think it sounds quite good, but I don't know a hell of a lot about guitars.

Depends on the money you want to spend. If not to much, buy an Ibanez RG (the model deppends on your budget) quitar usually a very good guitar for anything you want to play, and affordable.

And a good amp is a must, but a effects processor would do if you only play at home.

The AES is a good guitar but the mahogany version is also expensive.

Yes, it sounds good for lead also and it's a creamy distorsion not to brutal not to infront but it definetivley cut's through.

at first I thought it sucked.. but I was a real bad player

months later I tried to use it again... wooo nice pedal

the only problem I noticed.. is that at least mine, is quite noisy... but I use a noise suppressor and it[s damn goooooood
