On March 31, the Ad Council and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Office on Women's Health launched a new national public awareness campaign on lupus. The Lupus Foundation of America is the campaign's Founding Partner. LFA National Spokesperson, Mercedes Yvette, helped launch the campaign by participating in a series of interviews via satellite on radio and television stations throughout the United States. Here is a brief review of some of these interviews.
One of the most frustrating things with this disease is that you can keep telling the doctor that you are severely fatigued, hurt all over, and have other problems that are interferring with your ability to get on with your life, but the tests will come back non-definitive, and the doctors don't understand and often think that you are just a "whiner" or are "depressed", exagerate when you could be just trying to find an answer and do something to help you do good meaningful things in your life.
