i have cycled across usa 3x alone. The first 3x i tried, i quit in the calif. az desert border.. Too hot too tired. I hitch hiked back to LA. The next 3x i made it. 2005,2006 2009. I am thinking of doing it again this june. More north this coming year. You will get tired, You will get lost. You will be confused,You will get chased by dogs, You will be scared,You will feel pain in your butt, You will have bad days, You will be happy when you are pedaling down Broadway in NYC!!!!!!

im planning on cycling through south america and your advice in a lot of your videos are great. I rode 100km with all my gear up hills and down in the city that i am living in now! and i was so proud and now i am amped to go on my bike ride. how much freaking money do i need for a trip of say 2 years?

I'm looking for someone to ride across the USA this summer. I did it in 2007 when I was 58, camped mostly, rode about 80 miles a day. It is mental and not so much physical.
