What money are the going to pay taxes with????? Those on the lower end of the wage scale cant pay taxes. ALSO did you subtract retirees and seniors from that percentage, they already paid taxes for 60 years.

Does this apply to, say, police services? Or military defense?
Like because someone who doesn't pay any federal money, would they still enjoy the benefits of having police or the military?

@TheLegalImmigrant05 Agreed. How do we change things? I don't know. I cross my fingers and hope that politicians become more libertarian. I could say "change things? Get out and Vote!" but that's becoming throw-away rhetoric. We need to evolve into a free market individualist non aggressive society and I think the only way to do so is to wait until we all get pushed too far. I don't think it will be too late at that point, either. Then again, you may have a different perspective being immigrant.

Dear Sir,
You should start your own talk show.

@Nelapidae I concur.

I am a Free market anarchist, and right now I dont even earn enough to owe taxes. But I still want taxes to be eliminated, because my mother pays property taxes, and she can barely make the mortgage payments, then again it is her choosing not to earn more. And my father and sis pay taxes. And I realize that someday I will have to pay property/income tax, and I feel it is immoral for anyone to pay for someone they dont even know
Income tax isn't the only form of taxes, we all know this. Not paying income tax does not mean these people are automatically welfare recipients or something, if that was even the point. Joblessness is going to occur especially when the Government inflates, taxes, spends, monetizes debt and creates bubbles. Most people on welfare aren't smothering their hands together, laughing manically and relishing in your tax money, tax money that they themselves paid when they were employed.

@VonHOG "Income tax isn't the only form of taxes" Of course not - look at the title. I admit it is not 100% accurate, because those who work pay payroll taxes. Still, it shows a very bad trend. If taxes and government are like fee for service, then the fact that such a large group of the population are exempt from federal income taxes and yet still receive federal services is not a good thing.
Your analysis is valid though. The question is, how do we change things.

Robbing Peter to pay Paul will continue so long as the people's attention is fixed on needy Paul and not on looted Peter. This is precisely why Ayn Rand insisted that a moral revolution would have to precede a political revolution. So long as altruism is the prevalent moral code, Peter will continue to be sacrificed for the sake of Paul and this will be held up as "the good".

@Nelapidae Absolutely true. I am making a video on that.

I agree. I am reading "Capitalism: The Unknown Ideal" - what a brilliant book, and much needed, now more than ever.
