    Actually, this is wrong. Holst was not conveying the themes of the gods of Roman mythos the planets were named after, but the character trait that each planet has on the human psyche in an astrological sense.

    Actually the atmosphere is a thick blanket of carbon dioxide with a surface pressure 90 times that of Earth's, which retains all that heat. It does rain sulphuric acid constantly. Makes a manned mission.... challenging, to say the least.
