Using gloves, wash all fruits and vegetables with baking soda and then rinse with white vinegar, before rinsing with pure water. Using a spray bottle for the vinegar works well. Also, as a last treatment, use H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide) as a last step, and finish with a second pure water rinse.
I even wash fruit that will be pealed--before pealing--too.
These cleaning agents are safe and cheap and available at all Sam's Clubs in bulk. DO IT FOR YOUR KIDS!!!

Most of you obviously have no respect (or knowledge) of evolutionary biology. It can't be underscored enough how easily bacteria swap genes and equally scarey is their ability to survive. This is just not something to joke about. Ask seniors about the good 'ol days before antibiotics. Strong or weak immune system--doesn't mean a damn if something like XDR-TB gets you. When you get antibiotics, take them properly. We can't make it easy for bugs to adapt or medicine breakthrus won't keep up.

@ultamatepower yeah because the human body can treat "bugs" the people who die from this have a weak immune system and since antibiotics can't help then there is a problem
