@safgrieco as @invaderpink says, if it were down to 'God given purpose' men wouldn't stare at your breasts! It is perfectly natural to breastfeed in public and its not sensible at all.... 'when you have a husband and kids' I'd like to see you go home every time you want to feed your babies.

@safgrieco but see if we didnt have that attitude about them men wouldn't stare. We've turned Fleshy sacks of fat with nipples attached into a sexual object or a forbidden fruit! Women in other countries can walk around shirtless and have no one sexualize them. A couple hundred years ago it was the same thing for ankles!

@safgrieco would you starve your child if you were out and he/she got hungry, JUST because you don't want people seeing your breasts. That, my dear, is HIGHLY selfish. How would you feel if you could only eat in your house, away from everyone, and you starve otherwise? Its not about you anymore. It's about your child.

@nursefuzzywuzzy there are lots of human body parts with God given purposes. doesn't mean it's appropriate to use them all in public. i'm not offended by breasts, i have them. but whipping your boob out so it can be sucked on openly in a public setting is indecent. it's not a high and mighty attitude, it's just sensible. when i have a husband and kids, i'm not going to want to expose my breasts for the world to see and other men to stare at.

wtf

Why should women be forced to have breastfeeding etiquette? I'm a registered nurse and I am so sick of people trying to make women feel bad for feeding their children in public. I know you are trying to help women, but you are reinforcing a stigma that should not have EVER been stigmatized. Most babies want to see the mother while they are feeding. Why not show how you can place the baby on the breast and then drop the shirt to the baby's cheek. That was you are covered and the baby can see

high five thank you for your opinion I totally agree I think breast feeding should not be an issue at all. It's not like we make grown adults hide in a dark cave to eat their dinners. Prudish people need to get over their high and mighty attitudes, and If you don't want to see a woman using her breasts for their god given purpose then Keep your eyes averted and walk away.
