NYFD? wtf is the NYFD ive heard of FDNY matter of fact my cousin is a new york city fireman and youre gonna sit here and bash them saying theyre years behind everybody else when FDNY is one of the most history rich and dilligent departments in the world. So what if they wear leather helmets and black turnout gear its called tradition and until you understand that and that its not NYFD is FDNY you have no room to talk buddy get your shit straight before you write down your thoughts

Well... you can build a 100ft ladder un a 10m truck...

Yes the trailer can be separated from the tractor. In fact for many years it was common practice to replace the tractor and keep the trailer. In the 20s technology provided new motorized tractors coupled to the old horse drawn trailers

Cus its FDNY not nyfd so get ur shit rite

Guys, a very looser question: what's the difference between ladder and aerial? As I think, aerial is an official group-name of different kind of ladder trucks, ladder is the "public" name of these rigs. Is that correct?

This is going to sound like a real stupid question (I'm neither a firefighter nor a truck driver), but can the tractor separate from the rest of the unit?
