  • vintage superhoops, football was football and the loftus road pitch was a sandpit!

    bring back those days again

  • Did you bring your bucket and spade to Loftus road for half time sand castle competition???? ;-)

  • Rodney, Stan and the disgustingly underrated Tony Currie, every team had at least one Genius in those day's. And don't forget, you could hack them to bits from behind then.. now you can't touch them!

Remember Rodney's 67' league cup goal a 3rd div team (QPR)beating a first div team (WBA)

for some reason Stan has whipped up a hate campaign against Rodney, that Rod wasn't that good, DON'T BELIEVE IT!

Marsh, Bowles, Currie, George, Osgood, Cooke,Greaves They were GENIUS and they were OURS!!!!!

  • I agree Tony Currie was very under rated, he could bend a ball!!

  • the last goal was just brilliant

  • Nobody else but Rodney would be cheeky enough to do that trick!! Glad you enjoyed!!

  • Then he buggered up Man City's title bid. Hero!

  • "Ooh! Rodney Marsh!"

  • We don't get players like that now. Back then the flair players didn't earn much but they enjoyed themselves and entertained us.

  • Was there.Volley, header, and dribbling skills for a hatrick.Name another player to have done that.cant.oh well.

  • @Genius don`t wanna be a killjoy Rodney Marsh and Stan Bowles in the same team good to watch but how many did QPR concede?maybe that`s why they never got over the finishing line(Leeds)

  • What a player! If Ronaldo is worth £70m, what would the likes of Marsh, Best, Moore, Currie, Marinello, Cooke, Bell, Greaves, Bowles, Franny Lee, Osgood, etc., be worth today? Any of them would stroll in to any of the top 6 teams in England, Italy or Spain! Ahh, the 70's. Come back, all is forgiven! (Even the flares!)

  • @millbrook79 Dear god, how I agree.

  • ahhh when football was still the peoples game. then sky came in with money and ruined it

  • mulderre.

After Man City, Rod went to America & joined the Tampa Bay Rowdies. He & Pele were the first pioneers of the NASL. In 1976, during the NASL off-season, Rod & George Best joined Bobby Moore at Fulham (Rod's second stint there.) The Fulham V Hereford match, where Rod & George are on the same side but tackling each other, is now the stuff of legend!

After one season, Rod returned & stayed with the Rowdies in Florida. He now lives there for most of each year with his family.

    Tel Currie

  • That third goal. He was taking the wee out of those defenders. A good goal !
