If this censorship crap goes through they will block hardcore porn and fetish sites as well as flash games. Why should it be in their power to stop people from looking at that? Hell, if your children are looking up stuff like that, ban them from the bloody computer! It is a personal responsability to take chare of children parents should know that. The problem is that all hardcore porn and fetish material are already effectively banned in most of Australia, they don't classify it under anything and put it under so called "refuse classification", it is stuff you are not supposed to have in Australia by law... so there have already being a form of dictatorship in Australia, it just haven't been enforced on the net!!! :(

most common thing to get people to give out their freedomes is to say "think of the children" if some site that has lets say ideas that are oposite to leaders of the country think. slowly they are gonna steal your freedomes with the words "think of the children" when they censor some porn site they say "who cares if its adults. its still dangeros to our children" or when they censor political sites bechsoe they are "far leftist sites that are dangerus to our children"

This guy doesn't know what he's even talking about... This WILL NOT help. This would be a port 80 and port 8080 block. MAYBE a port 88 block. This doesn't help with the p2p networks as other are saying, but a lot of this is also going on in email lists. Unless they are planning on blocking all major email sites and SMTP and EVERYTHING ELSE which could be used to transport media this won't do a thing but keep the good guys from watching a few videos on Youtube.
