Almaxsecurity: So you're saying that if tasers went away, for the same situations, police would reach for pistols? This isn't backed up by a long history of cops using other non-lethal means to do their jobs. If cops are reaching for tasers in life-threatening situations, they are freaking stupid and a protester resisting arrest doesn't justify lethal force either.

So what, back to the good old days then and shoot the suspect! Or should the police risk a wrestling match with the crim and end up a victim themselves. Taser and stun guns have saved a lot more lives given the alternatives. Grow up an think yourselves lucky you have a constitution that allows honest people to protect themsleves. Here in the UK you just got to take whats coming from the criminals, as it's an offence to carry any form of protection.
