That patch panel is an absolute mess. You should also get a Digital Tone & Probe (i.e. the Fluke Networks IntelliTone) tool that is certified for use on live networks. If there is no data or network switch on the other end, this is fine, but your tool is best used for analog voice on the 66 blocks..

Hello friend, I have just bought the same device for cable probing, however I do not have the orange box you use for utp computer cables,... I have experienced the problem you are describing - when you are probing a cable that has a switch, or router, or whatever else (even turned off) on the other side, it just kills the signal and I don't hear it,... Can you tell me more about the orange box? I have tried some combinations of "cables" connected to "black" and "red" output, but none has worked.
