I think this question is in the spirit of the channel: seems easy and straightforward, but makes you think.

  • A Privilege is a benefit it can be trodden on kicked and revoked.

A Right is an entitlement ,it can be trodden on kicked but can never be revoked.

  • Good point!!!

The Bramin, the upper class, etc ...

The distinction seems more to be that you are "special" in having this ability?

  • But can't privileges also be inherited? After all, "the privileged classes" refers to those that have had comfort handed to them.

  • Interesting take.

  • I pretty much agree with your view on rights, but I think that privilege is a little broader than that.

  • Rights belong to all individuals. ( Soon as 'the cord' is cut you are an individual. ) [ You have the Right to do as you please, Except the Right to infringe upon the Rights of others] .

Privilege is what your master grants you if you CHOOSE to be a slave, serf, subject, citizen or however your overlords label you.

  • wow you guys actually have a question i feel i can answer so here it goes. i feel that a privilege is something that can be giving whereas a right is something that is earned through blood sweat and tears.

  • Havir : awesome first video.

The power of the open question is a big one. ;)

I'll agree with the other heather: right's tend to be associated with legal rights. Typically, a right is seen a something you can't lose though.

When you have "no right to do something", often the person is asserted that there should be a law stopping you. You are immoral in some way.

Privelidge is a special "right" which is EARNED and which can be taken away when its not deserved.

  • Good question. Don't know how to answer that cus I have no idea.

  • You guys are awesome.

I like how you try to make people think!!!

Beware of the open question. Power of the tao for me.
