Shucking corn and then boiling it and putting it in freezer bags.

If you arrive early to this vid you might want to wait and come back after it's fully processed by YouTube because yikes it looks bad until it gets fully processed. When it's fully processed the HD option will show up. However after fully being processed it will look much better even in normal viewing mode.

  • THis is great man. Thank you so much. I'm about to put corn seed in the ground, was wondering what dimensions you use, seed to seed, row to row. All a foot appart? Thumbs up. Going to do all this your way on my first corn crop ever. :)

  • @TheBrassHole I plant it 1 foot apart. Also I plant two rows 2 feet apart. Then I do a spacing of 3 feet and then do another two rows 2 feet apart. If *everything* were only 2 feet apart there wouldn't be enough room to walk between the rows to do weeding/hoeing or whatever. You of course walk down the rows which are 3 feet apart.

  • Want an organic fertilizer? Your urine watered down. Crazy sounding indeed but it works, tried it. For years the Swedes been recycling their urine which farmers collect and apply to their crops. Perhaps this is why Swedish women are so eye-appetizing. People want to gag when you share such info with them, they never think about how their food was grown from some form of manure.

  • Hehehehe, I don't doubt it works. Urine probably has a certain amount of ammonia in it which is high in nitrogen. Still, I think I'll pass though.

  • Awesome videos. Have you grown the heirloom Trucker's Favorite Yellow Corn? It's supposedly ""heat tolerant and does well, even in adverse weather conditions. 75 days to yield. This variety is disease resistant and also resistant to corn earworms."" Doesn't seem to be GMO corn. I came across it on ebay. Ever hear of it?

  • I haven't heard of it before. I love the golden and silver queen so much though that I'm not going to change.

  • Hi there Blinker from downunder, Ive grown my first crop of sweet corn , loved youre video and has solved a puzzle of how to freeze sweet corn , mmmm everyone loves sweet corn with butter and salt. I strongly urge you Blinker not to eat the first and second pick of 60 ears until its they are first tried eaten and tested which I am willing to volunteer for, Please mate youre song Yummy yummy sweet corn in my tummy is catshing, I would like you to sing the full song please. LOL Kind regards,

  • Great video. Just two suggestions. Instead of taking the hot corn out of the pot and letting it cool on paper towels, fill a cooler with ice and drop them in there until really cold. That way you don't have to worry about how you stack them in the freezer. Also if you use a straw for sucking out the air in the bag, it is way easier to zip it up without the bag filling up again. My job has always been the ice/bag/freezer part of putting corn on the cob away. :)

  • Great video! Thank you so much!

  • What a wealth of info! Thanks so much. I'm getting ready to try my first corn. You gave me so many good tips and ideas. Great video! Keep them coming.
