i personally like chinese traditional music more than japanese traditional music. japanese music sounds harsh and desolate to me. thats just my own feelings though. no offense to anyone else.

@TuTrinity This is, humorously, a common reaction to foreigners of traditional Japanese genres such as Noh and Gagaku...Even the Chinese often say this of Japanese traditional music: "it sounds like they're crying." Lol. I love both genres, because nothing is more beautiful than the desolate plain or the abandoned mountain.

I adore traditional Chinese quqin music. It is so relaxing and so good for meditation.

Music is music. All music is made by someone. It really doesn't matter what country it is from. Recognizing this or that tradition is only useful if you can appreciate that tradition. If you only see the tradition as negative, it just turns into a stupid box you can use to lump everything you don't like together in a lazy way.

@TuTrinity I can agree. Though I enjoy both, Chinese music has more livelihood to its sound (well, maybe not in this piece), and more romance in its tone, as well.
