In this one I play a Doug Dillard/Ralph Stanley version of Hard Times, a Melodic Version of Bill Keith's Salt Creek and Don Reno's version of Remington Ride.

  • What banjo you playin there?

  • In this old video I'm playing my Johnson JB-300 Korean rip-off of a Fender. It was my intermediate banjo before I got my Deering Calico which is my main banjo now.

  • Love that first track - hauntingly beautiful.

    What tuning are you using?

    Best regards.

    John W.

  • Glad you like it.

I believe it is in D. To play it like this you have to tune down strings 2, 3 and 5. I used tabs that I got from banjo hangout.

  • Not a bad banjo. I like the look of calicos, but never got to try one. I play a Gold star Gf-100fe. Its a great banjo, and i love it. I choe it over the maple, because i prefer the mahogany sound, even for bluerass.
