A video from the Assassination of Jesse James by The Coward Robert Ford, about how Robert and Charlie handled the aftermath of the assassination differently. In some ways I feel sorry for Robert Ford, as much as I can feel sorry for a man who shot an unarmed man in the back. What draws me most to the scene is how Nick Cave can sing the famous folk song "Jesse James" in the presence of Robert Ford, and Robert's only retort is "It was two children, not three", as if he had finally come to believe everything else that was said was true.

  • Isn't it crazy how a whole country can love a guy who robbed and murdered innocent people and turned on his own?

  • @rusheena Jesse was a master of public relations. He had a friend in the Missouri newspapers who would publish his perspective. I doubt anyone even realized how much of his gang he killed in his final year, but Bob and Charlie certainly knew that they were next on the list.

  • When he throws the gun; is he daring him to shoot him?

  • @futurestoryteller No, the singer (Nick Cave) is unarmed, so my impression is that he threw the gun down, it was to avoid arrest, or to be shot by someone else.

  • @futurestoryteller I agree with your perspective. He may be daring him, and in his emotional state, he may be suicidal after his Brother's death. Personally, I get the feeling he was trying to disarm himself, and the pistol went much further than he intended. He could barely stand as it was.

  • the guy that's singing is actually nick cave. the genius behind the soundtrack for the assassination, and the proposition.

  • Yes, the folk singer is Nick Cave. He did a great job, not only in this scene, but in the Soundtrack.

  • I don't quite know what you're saying, but I certainly hope it was meant as a compliment, beacuse this film is one of the best in the decade.
