It's HP Lovecraft a-go-go in "The Miskatonic Acid Test", the first feature from American Entropy Productions. It's 1969, and cosmic horror infects a psychedelic rock "happening" in witch-haunted Arkham, Mass. It's a zonked out brew of poetry, philosophy, cosmic horror, and 60's-style acid rock; probably the first horror movie that's more heavily influenced by the Monkees' "Head" than by George Romero... This is the official trailer.

  • I always knew there was a connection between HPL's philosophy and the later psychedelic movement. Cosmic revelations, and all that... But for Lovecraft, the trip was always bad.

  • iS this movie still being made or being released because i have been wating forever and nobody seems to have any idea....

It says 2006 on IMDB ...

5 yrs later and still nothing?

    Can somebody help me pleaaassee?

  • Grovey Azathoth!!

  • @vondunkelheit

    this is damn fucking great!

  • Androidstar: If all of today's crack and meth pushers were suddenly dealing Osley acid instead, do ya think we'd have another exhilarating ecstatic Sixties-type awakening like WE went through? Well, nice dream, anyway....oh, for a time machine to travel back 45 years or so! My new Bible is "Hippie" by Barry Miles...gotta get YOUR book for Xmas. Now stop reading this and play "Flashing Lights" by Screaming Lord Sutch, on You Tube, there's your Time Machine.

  • When is the movie to be released? Or can I download it somewhere?

  • Is the music from an actual band or do I have to buy some soundtrack or something.

I kinda like the song with that line from: feed feed the warmachine, feed feed the warchine. Yeahhh

So hoew can i get it???

  • You've got the psychedelic look, but aside from some poetry where's the cosmic horror? Is it 'Summer of Lovecraft' or 'The Monkees meet Cthulhu'? The failing of the vast majority of Lovecraftian films is that they take their cue not from Lovecraft's own works but from the inferior pastiche culture that's grown up around them-a culture built largely on other pastiches. This looks interesting, but the HPL connection seems strained--out of left field. Is it pastiche or parody or both?

  • this is actually pretty damn good!

  • Im flashing! I'm retrograding! Far out man! I remember my teenage years in the Haight Ashbury tripping on Osley acid! Thanks for the memories! Cheers!
