  • @Boredout454 440 6 pack and 340 six pack had hydralic lifters only the hemi up until 69 had solid lifters also 428cj had hyralic lifters

  • Not all true. 340/6 had hydros with an adjustable valvetrain.

  • @silverado271 All high horsepower engines came with mechanical solid lifters back in the 60's and 70's. The 426 Hemi, 440 Sixpacks, 340 Sixpacks, 302 DZ, 454 LS6, 396 L78, 427 LS7, 427Ford, 428CJ etc. If it was the higher end rated hp version 99 percent of the time it was a solid lifter with 11:1 compression or in some cases such as the Hemi 12.5-13:1 compression. And all came with forged internals.
