Here I show you an introduction on how to use Nikon's built-in Intervalometer to create Time Lapse Photography.

This is an introduction to using the Intervalometer with a DSLR to create Time Lapse Photography. I will discuss what is an intervalometer and demonstrate some basic tips on how to set your camera to use an intervalometer.

  • Does anyone know the name of the intro song?

  • @zapiollin the song is untitled - i wrote and recorded it ;-)

  • I set my camera to shoot JPEGS that are 1920x1280 which is gonna get cropped to 1920x1080.... that way the files are relatively small but its still full 1080p HD video on youtube or HDTV. Thanks for the tips... I didn't try Auto ISO but that will be my next try. I did a "spy on my dogs" video....LOL! Great work Adam keep it up.

  • @araujojorge I actually would not recommend Auto ISO but rather try setting your camera to the lowest ISO setting or at least something low to minimize grain.

  • are there Intervalometer in the nikon d3100??

  • @AdamLernerPhoto wow! that's an awesome intro :-)

  • @aspen84 The gadget is an external intervalometer, (if your camera has remote trigger input). It's just a timer that coses a switch that triggers your camera through a cable. You can buy this at an electronics/electric store, just buy a piece of cable (2 wires) and a mini plug for the camera (like a small headphone plug).

  • I used my iphone.. greath results

  • Since you'll be shooting JPEG it would be good if you set the white balance too.

    Thanks!

  • What about the T2i?

  • Or you can go hardcore, and use a Texas Instruments Graphing Calc. for time lapse. This is a cheaper alternative if you already own a graphing calculator.

  • Adam, What song fo you use for the intro of your videos?
