  • @fishyStas not if you build some sort of enabling function of the gyroscope. If you don't want to use it, you just disable it. I think i remember some sort of mechanism made for that on devices without gyroscope already.. what's its name? screen lock maybe?

  • this is just to mych moving!

  • So, why hasn't Steve bought you yet? He should.

  • So ? is there now any smartphones or devellopers who implemented this in their apps ?

The gyroscope of the iphone 4, will stimulate them i think

  • This is impressive but still stupid. Like @raymankisser said, if you do something as innocent as riding your bike, you're gonna call up your whole phonebook or rob a bank. lol

  • it will find some use in some devices - nothing major though and nothing usable for the end user...

  • lol. take a ride with my bike. down a hill. oh i suddenly called someone. and opened some apps.

this is not usable. except you stand still all day.

  • really impressive.

  • @gussyw i agree. It will be a total nightmare if you use some of these functionalities to control the phone. Some of the features are all right, like turning the phone on the table or tapping it while it rings in your pocket but like navigation in the menu or flipping thru photos like that isn't really nice....takes more time than finger gestures in touch screen

  • Gaming and navigation will benefit. However, having this integrated into all the other functions will be a nightmare and you will end up turning it off as it will be doing all sorts of crap you didn't want/intend to do.

In a google earth mobile app survey a while ago - that's why 83% turn off this option within the app - you're moving naturally on a mobile device anyway and it therefore becomes a right pain !

So just a better gaming and navigation experience is all this will bring in my opinion.
