@thefetede It's vaguely related to Patti Smith's seminal 1975 masterpiece "Horses". Johnny is the main character in that spectacular opus. Btw, I love this flick. I throw it on right before I climb into bed. it has that stilted tranquilizer effect. And the characters like Cholo Martinez, that fat Latino junkie broad, and that slimy smack dealer who runs into the sewer tunnel are all so "L.A. Noir". I love me some delinquent chick flicks. Normal women bore the ever loving shit outta me. Love this

I own 830 movies and this one is in my top 15 or so. It's so choice. It's because it's such a period piece time capsule. The whole narration deal with no spoken dialogue is so unique. Albeit done out of necessity back then, since there wasn't enough of a screenplay to work with. And I love films that capture the vibe of 1950's Los Angeles, seemingly almost by accident. It's one of my fave flicks to throw on & climb into bed at the end of the day. It's because it has such a tranquilizer effect.

propoganda movies are funny...lies lies lies...

Even the B Pictures back then had some class about them. Not as ace as junkie drama The Man With the Golden Arm, but that's a true classic.

My favorite part is when Cassandra smokes her first "reefer" at 08:26 . The expression on her face is priceless.

the time...September the 11th, 1952...

This is a good time capsule into the early 1950s Los Angeles. This urban teen angst led up to Rebel Without a Cause.
