After minutes of struggle, a Washington DC fire truck finally makes it through the snow up a hill. Feb. 6, 2010, 12:08 a.m.

1. Plow has to geto the problem - can take a while getting there.
2. Plow must clear directly in front of apparatus - that can takes time a while
3. Plow must hook up and TOW stuck apparatus out to cleared area.
All of this adds up to far too long.
Better to have snow chains.

@robertgift I live in Greeley and they bought 1 like this and they have really wide streets here and don't have to worry about getting stuck in the snow very often. Plows are sent to clear any side street not cleared if a emergency call is sent.

No tire chains?
In Denver, I saw a ladder truck do a 180. Missed everything!
He then continued ahead (back) and turned right down another street.
