  • For those who don't remember this storm, it really was a frightening thing. The power went out around midnight the first night, and there was thunder and lightning during the blizzard. It was the creepiest thing to see blue/pink flashes of lightning in the complete darkness. The wind was blowing so hard, it sounded like the windows were going to blow in, and the power didn't come back on for almost a week. It was not a fun time at all.

  • I had to work that night and because my boss messed up I had to stay until 2 a.m.. I ran off the road and popped a tire just 2 miles from home and drove on a flat to a friends house close by. About 4 a. m., I decided to walk to my house. It was surreal. Everything was covered. Couldn't tell where the road ended and peoples yards began. No mechanical sounds like cars or trains, just silence. It was like being on an uninhabited planet all by myself.

  • Hairspray Ladun!!

  • This storm was incredible and I am so glad I was able to experience it as a weather fanatic. My brothers and I had so much fun running around in the snow at like 2 AM. The thunder snow was so wierd. That night where I lived in Anniston, The sky was pink with flashes of blue and green when the lightning struck.

Unfortunately, there was a serious side to all the fun and excitement. People died.

  • wow! James can walk on water!

  • I love you James Spann.

  • The good ol' days back when Spann was working at Channel 6 with Scott Richards, Janet Hall, and company before they split into ABC 33/40 and Fox 6

  • Cool the weather guy was standing on top of the world!

  • It actually went down to 2 in Birmingham on that Sunday morning.
