Thanks; I love British films from this era. I happened to mention this film to my mother when she was in hospital a few months before she died and it turns out she and my father saw it when they were courting! Superb.
I rented out this film, and it is an Ealing cinema great. No computer-generated gimmicks here folks! Just good honest real acting, by professional actors and a story line created around the docks, city and bomb-sites of post-war London/ If you want to view a real classic nail-biter with a wholly unexpected ending, then this is it.
Great picture and probably the first interracial love story in a british movie.

Brilliant - I wish you could put up the whole film. Big fan of Susan Shaw and Bonar Colleano
