CAMPBELL RIVER - Students hopeful for careers in the world of on-line gaming got some welcome news this week from a key person in BC's videogame industry.
Rick Stringfellow, Arts Director for Electronic Arts, a major developer of popular videogames
shared his knowledge with several students of Timberline Highschool's Digital Arts program. Stringfellow said the prospect of employment in the future was very positive. In particular he said the internet's trend towards "gamification" would provide many opportunities.
Stringfellow said many companies are realizing that adding games to their websites is a very effective way to generate repeat traffic. He said students with good math and computer skills could be lining themselves up nicely for entry into the game production job market.
