@MerkinMuffly I'd have to agree. Watching Bird led to seeing him do things so fast I think it was an instinctive thing. The kind of things that you CAN"T teach players to do. I think by playing so much basketball he kind of taught himself to trust his instincts and that enabled him to do such creative things with the ball. His touch passes just redirected the ball so fast it looked like sleight of hand! Bounce passes between opponents legs are UNREAL. Anyone who has played can appreciate that!

Great post Merk!! Some footage I hadn't seen. LOVE the bounce pass between the legs of Uve Blap of Dallas at 1:59 - just like Bird did to Jack Sikma and Akeem-join the club. Bird had the fastest mind and hands in NBA. Nobody could make pinpoint passes instantaneously like he did - best court vision, creativity and instincts I've ever seen. Also love the Piston bench-in awe of Birds shot making. Look at his hustle - best all around player ever!!

@mrho4speed He was able to make decisions in fractions of seconds, that's why I think his fakes were so devastating, you didn't know if he was going to shoot or pass until it happened, I don't think he knew himself.
