This is more than a tribute to soldiers killed in war.
My brother, Tom, is based at Ft. Hood and will be returning to the chaos that is still going on there.
Thirteen people were killed, 31 more were injured, and I still don't know how many my brother may or may not have known.
Either way, he has to have a response to what has happened. I just don't know what it will be.
One act of violence that occurred b/c of one fool's stupidity. The aftershocks continue even if people are unaware they do.

  • Very nice tribute. The words are so meaningful. My heart goes out the those at Fort Hood and your brother. He must be so upset to learn about what happened. I hope he soon enough will be home. It must be hard for you knowing he is not safe. I am sure you are counting the days until he arrives back safe to the United States.

  • He hasn't heard yet. When he does, I don't know how he's going to react, b/c I don't know if he knew any of the wounded or fallen.

I get to find out next week, when he returns to the states for his Rest and Relaxation.

    Thank you.

  • Thank you for remembering those who paid the ultimate sacrifice, and all who serve(d) our Nation. Powerful video, 5/5 stars. Fort Hood a scant two hours away, practically in my back yard - still in shock. Expect something like this "over there," not here in America. But we, who raised our hand and donned the uniform, swore to defend this Nation from all enemies, foreign and domestic. Give your brother a big ole Texas (((HUG))) and a grateful salute from this USAF medic/Veteran.
