lol it's even funnier if you understand German.

also, fun fact. Hitler would have meetings with his SS officers (cabinet of sorts) and they weren't allowed to smoke, so they would sneak off to the bathroom and smoke.

Hitler would literally have long dinners where he just talked and talked and talked and the men would try to escape for smoke breaks in the bathroom xD

"You are the audience.... I am the author...I outrank you." My favorite line in the movie. The remake was unwatchable, but I liked the music. I don't uite understand what Matthew Broderick was going for with his dd interpretation of Leo Bloom. What abou Uma Thurman's Now-You-See-It, Now-You-Don't accent. Theorigial is still funny after all thes years.

Some think hitler was crazy, some say hitler was mad. I say, hitler was like the hitler in this play.

1:31 - Mel Brooks' voice is dubbed over the actor.

Uma Thurman-too much crap said about that Batman and Robin movie-none of the franchise were all that great. Uma was good.

This is my favorite Mel Brooks film along with Blazing Saddles-the others are a bit to cutesy for my taste.

Favorite Mel Brooks has to be either Blazing Saddles or Young Frankenstein.

I am a major Python fan and it is a pretty hard stretch to compare Brooks to Python as their comdy is so radically different. Python has had more influence on in a creative sense. Mel Brooks can devolve sophmoric yukes.

I loathe Ferris Bueller. If he were real he'd probaly go into politics (probably Rublican) a become another manipulative bully, which he is in the movie who is only concerned with his own pleasure.

My favorite from Mel Brooks was History of the World: Part 1 and Spaceballs.

Is it safe to say Mel Brooks was like American's own one-man-troupe Monty Python?

Matthew Broderick was better in Ferris Bueller's Day Off (that's probably his best role in his early years) and I've not forgiven Uma Thurman for being in Batman&Robin.

Maybe if Mel Brooks directed it himself it would have been better. I tried watching it on a few occasions and jst couldn't do it. I don't know what Mathew Broderick was going for. Uma Thurman was a poor casting choice. Nathan Lane is no Zero Mostel. The original is (arguably) the funniest movies of all time---a bit dated in spots but still stands the tesr of time. I can only imagine what they did to Young Frankenstein. I don;t need all my chershed memories dragged through the mud
