Jon and Jóli Reichel - The Amazing Race 21 Application Video

Jóli, 6'2", is a 24-year-old artist and museum educator in Philadelphia, PA, with a passion for world cultures and languages. Progressive, vivacious and curious, she has CouchSurfed in 25 countries and hosts international travelers in Philly. In her free time, Jóli plays ultimate frisbee, writes poetry and revels in the sublime beauty of existence.

Jon, 6'6", is a conservative 55-year-old environmental geologist and Boy Scout leader living a modest early retirement in his rural hometown of Grafton, Ohio. He recently built his own dock and outdoor shower and is getting into yoga. This summer, Jon became notorious for fitting into a pair of jean shorts that he last wore in the 8th grade, which he has kept in a hermetically sealed Ziploc bag for the past forty years.

Jóli and Jon first watched The Amazing Race Season 1 when Jóli was only 13 years old. Since that day, it has been her dream to appear on the show with her Dad. Now that Jon is conveniently out of work for the first time in more than thirty years, the leggy twosome is ready to take it to the streets, the seas, the summits and the skies as they contend for a coveted spot as a team on The Amazing Race 21 ! In their eyes, the race has already begun, and Pit Stop #1 is Call-Back auditions! Yeee Haw!

Joli, do you play for any particular team in Ultimate?

I play on mixed teams year-round with the Philadelphia Area Disc Alliance. In the past I have played with teams from Italy and South Africa at tournaments throughout Europe.

True story: I once saw Jon reichel leap and dive for a free t-shirt being tossed at a high school football game, landing on a hot chocolate that spilled all over himself and others, if he will stop at nothing for that free shirt, this duo will be an unrelenting force in this race for sure. :)

I have just finished watching other videos for the entry to the Amazing Race 2012, and I can say without a doubt that this is my very favorite! They are fun, intelligent, and original in the things they say and do! I love watching the Amazing Race and they would be a great team for the show!

@UncomfortableGiant - Welcome to "The Curse!" In the video, a Silverado with XTra Cab and the seat pushed AND reclined WAY back. I also have a 2001 Passat (w/ elec seat) that works for me. My 6'6" son has a Maxima - very doable.
