Hope is a bad thing -you are brilliant ,people read this story many times and never figure out that hope is a bad thing -Hope is what all religions give and promise ..hope is a bad thing because it takes away the power that imidiate action can attain for human beings ..Klap klap klap ;-)))

Zeus punished men beacsue a god has brought fire to prometeus. so zeus sent a box filled with all the worlds sins. (seven sins) aphrodite felt bad and added hope to the box. that in the face of human condition , we may hope to strive to better our world. that was the sense. but when i see zealous rel;igious individuals that cling to hope as gods promise, i cling to my sense and say hope is a demon bitch.. in fact pandoras box is a replacment story of genesis adam and eve!!! aphrodite is christ!

I think that there are many interpretations and versions of the story.

You're wrong, the story is hopelessness was kept in the box, not hope. The side you referred to was another variation of the story, that kinda mixed together. The other variation stated everything good and dear to us was in the box, and as it was opened everything escaped, from the box, and our lives. Leaving one last thing that did not escape us, Hope.

@gabbiebaby14 This telling is indicative that females were not "women." It is a notion that they were not labeled of their own and left powerless. With the advent or onset of the creation of a woman, we have the first female capable of real influence/power over men. Females existed, but without a label of gender regarding worth.
