Thanks to Liz and to the Willie Nelson Peace Research Institute for giving me the honor of doing this video in the name of peace! Willie Nelson's life and music stand for all that is good and right about this country, and I am keeping the best company of my life in doing this video.

Thanks also to Rod Brock from Kansas City for allowing the use of his rendition of ''A Peaceful Solution'' for this video. Rod's music is beautifully performed from the heart and I encourage you to check out his channel under the name Cliffbrock.

MY POEM FOR PEACE
(original poem by suuzzee5)

When I was a child the world was defined
By a dusty old road and a trip to the store
My mother wore dresses, my dad farmed the fields
And I didn't know we were poor

My brothers and I, we played in the creek
Young soldiers paid visits to relive the war
The Army was part of our everyday life
Uncle Sam always slept by the door

Our world was safe and our horses were fast
We always ran hard every race that we won
But as I grew up, the world's face was changed
Dark clouds came to blot out the sun

Our President died on a hot Texas street
Vietnam tore to pieces our hearts and the flag
We wandered for years in a hot fevered daze
Our ideals became but a scrag

It seemed for awhile Peace and Love were forgotten
I thought to our roots we might never return....
To that dusty old road, to the old country store,
To the fireplace where apple logs burned

Then came a strong wind of construction and change
The emptiness filled and began to give sway
Mother Earth in a fury was shaking her back
As she stepped up front into the fray

If we want to survive this and keep Peace alive
The steep well-worn path through the thickets is clear
Do unto others as you would have done
Or lose all that your heart holds so dear

I've said this before and I'll say it again
My America has always been free
Her two sides didn't match, they were torn by the wind
We were almost swept out to the sea

We're back on track now, Peace is more than a dream
It's a glow in the heart of the darkest cold night
I will open Her doors and sweep clear the thorn path
I will give my last match for Her light

Gaelic blessing:

Deep peace of the flowing air to you.
Deep peace of the quiet earth to you.
Deep peace of the shining stars to you.
Deep peace of the infinite peace to you.
